Any recommendations for an ultra sonic cleaner in that size ? Too worried I might run into these cheap fakes
Super Lube is my go to rust inhibitor. It never "dries" and will last a very long time! Much better than a clear coat sealer, IMO. Don't throw out those rusted components!

That piece of the sound unit is incredible in how consistently it rusts.
Are you using straight vinegar or are you diluting it?

Consider using Ospho as a surface seal. It'll also take off rust if applied with a steel wool and the grey oxide coat it creates can be painted on very easily with Plutonium spraypaint
To which I will add that the best ultrasonic cleaners are made by Sonicor in the USA and Tovatech in Germany. Buy Vevor and you'll be sore.
