Behind screaming ribs, the very concept of air has become something difficult to grasp. Get up, he willed his shattered body to no avail. “Vox! Vox, can you hear me?” A familiar voice broke through the fog clouding his mind though it sounded so far away. When he tried to respond nothing came out. Another on his other side - just as familiar and distant. “Stay with us okay? Just- fuck” Lost and adrift in thick haze, a large, warm hand found one of his. It was all he could do to weakly squeeze back. Red… and Blue… so they're both fretting over me.... “Easy Vox, just… easy alright? Don’t move, it’s gonna be okay, you’re gonna be okay.” Red’s voice was steady, but he couldn’t hide the urgency and panic - sounding more like he was trying to convince himself than soothe Vox.
“Deep Blue! Red Hot!” A reporter, probably sent by some tabloid or another to catch a post match interview, called out waving their hand above the ravenous crowd to try and catch the brothers’ attention. Fielding questions after a match could be such a drag, but Blue couldn’t say he didn’t enjoy the attention. He flashed that signature mischievous little half-smirk of his and waved the journalist forward. “Sure, sure~ what’cha got for us?” The reporter made a valiant attempt to shuffle through the crowd of fans, shouting to be heard over the din, “fans are noticing that the Daring Devils have been a mite less daring in their recent bouts! No one can imagine what, or who, would be capable of reining the two of you in! Care to give us the scoop on what’s got you both holding back lately?” Fair question, honestly. They had been getting into a little less trouble lately, though he wouldn’t say they were any less daring. The brothers shared a look, Blue’s grin splitting even wider while Red’s usually flat expression also quirked up into a little grin of his own. They knew the answer, of course they did. It was back home in their apartment, probably curled up and napping now that the match’s broadcast had ended. Not that they were at all keen on sharing the details.Their Slow, hesitated response stretched long enough the crowd's commotion fell into anticipatory silence of their answer.
