My dad standing in the center, with my grandmother and my aunt and uncles. Except for the youngest uncle, all the children are wearing school uniforms. My dad had just passed the entry exam to Chien Kuo High School, considered Taiwan's top senior high school for boys back then (and arguably now), so this was taken at a photo studio near our old home in Hsinchu before my dad left for school in Taipei, which was at least a two-hour train ride away back then. For this photo, it looks like he was still wearing his junior high school uniform, since CKHS has always had khaki uniforms. This photo is a contact print made from a large format negative measuring roughly 4×2.5".
