Russia retook control of the remaining 358km虏 of Kursk, while Ukraine has captured 11.88km虏 of Belgorod. This results in a total combined net Russian gain for the month of 618.84km虏, the third highest in the past year. This chart shows monthly net changes in control over the past year.

This repost is in support of Adam Kinzingers point earlier about those defending merely need to defend to win. Note the change in territory in relation to total Ukraine size in past two years. Russian gains have been negligible relative to cost in equipment and human lives.
