The fact that the US refused to sign onto the ICC and the Rome Statute says everything you need to know about DC's views on war crimes and war criminals. You don't refuse to outlaw an undeniably heinous crime unless you know you're guilty of that crime or intend to commit those crimes.

I’m starting to think Mamdani and Netanyahu deserve each other.

Can trump go with him? He’s already a felon with a mugshot. Prison is overdue.

Meanwhile, our federal government... bsky.app/profile/wash...

Ok. Let’s watch how fast the federal government does what Mamdani says.

RJB · 1d

That would be quite the trick because the USA is not signatory to the Rome statute and the ASPA law directs the federal government to never cooperate with the ICC. What he is suggesting is literally illegal.

Mamdani is a nutter

I suggest sending off #Trump and his pirates to ICC too. 🏴‍☠️

Well. It would be a dangerous path if any mayor, governor or president could give direct arrest orders. It would break the separation of powers. Those things happen only in dictatorships.

See, contra, Lil Marco seeking to destroy the ICC as an institution, knowing the bell will toll for him in the future as well.

I do not think we in the US are ICC signatories... Nope

Mad McGunn · 1d

Anyone with the power to do so should arrest him, deflecting it to the feds is just lame

Can you even imagine if they held Netenyahu to the same standard they do Zelenskyy? It's insane this is even a fringe idea by Mamdani, but thanks to him for leading.
