The patterns within them, made from painted layers of thin cut plywood, are designed so that they line up with eachother and can be rearranged into different configurations. The rest of the cavity is filled with a clear resin, and they are finished with varnish. To their left is the accompanying caddy for storage.
“Lattice”, a turned and carved tea light. Made from a fallen maple branch with an integrated electronic tea light, it evokes the natural lattice structure of some coral or fungi. Seen here from front on.
