Y Wladfa PATAGONIA With Argentina set to play England tonight in the World Cup, we have seen people trying to highlight the links between Cymru and Argentina that entirely whitewash the history. This is a theme not only in sports but also deeply pervasive in our education and our national movement.

[Alt text 1] "Remembering a Suffragette Martyr: Emily Davison. On this day in 1913, Emily Davison died of injuries she sustained while protesting for women’s right to vote. Davison was a militant member of the Women’s Social and Political Union, and she was also a socialist. As an active suffragette Davison was arrested nine times, and during her hunger strikes she was regularly force-fed. She disrupted liberal rallies, threw stones at liberal politicians and set fire to post-boxes. She is also believed to have been responsible for a bombing that destroyed Chancellor Lloyd George’s house. Over 55,000 people attended Davison’s funeral, and she has become a martyr for the women’s movement."

A rise in transgender acceptance has triggered reactionary moral panics. UK hate groups, funded by various American Conservative Christian foundations and amplified by reactionary print media, have used anti-trans arguments as weapons to try and break apart progressive coalitions and roll back LGBTQ+ rights. Labour are under immense pressure, both from anti-trans hate groups and from the trans community. Following their reactionary inclinations, they have chosen to “resolve” the matter by segregating trans people “with dignity and respect”. This will prove to be no resolution at all. Let us show Labour the anger and defiance this “guidance” has awoken, and make them regret ever issuing it. Stand up for our trans comrades!
The government have published their latest attack on the trans community. What is being proposed has been weakened by the efforts of many progressive groups, but is still fundamentally an attempt to segregate trans people out of public spaces. This is the product of an organised hate movement. It must be resisted. We call on everyone, trans and cis, to defy this guidance any way they can and to agitate against it. As ever, we send unequivocal support and solidarity to our trans comrades & neighbours.

Text: MISTREATED Any perceived failing by any member of any Roma or Traveller community is amplified by click-hungry news companies. Headlines routinely conflate Roma & Traveller culture with criminality. Everyday discrimination, following from media hysteria, is common. Bullying of Roma & Traveller children at school is recognised as a particularly acute problem. Discrimatory refusal of service at pubs and other venues, though illegal under the Equality Act, is routinely enforced by police (sometimes violently). In November 2024 for example, Greater Manchester Police used a dispersal order to turn Travellers away from Manchester Christmas Market. Sweeping new powers enable police to seize and destroy Traveller homes for minor infractions, giving them leeway to further harass and traumatise families.

REFORM POLITICIANS THREATEN BANGOR UNI! When Reform UK asked to visit Bangor Uni Debating Society, the society refused. In response, Reform politicians are threatening to cut 100% of the University's funding.
We’re deeply sad to hear about the death of Michael Parenti. His work as a Marxist academic in the post-USSR world that our members grew up in helped influence a whole generation to reject the neoliberal status quo and renew the fight for the working class. In our early years as an organisation, we decided to upload important Marxist content to our website, one of these being the PDF of Blackshirts & Reds. Outside of The Dragon Has Two Tongues, this book is the most downloaded piece of Marxist work on our page. We encourage all our followers to read it, and to understand why this loss is so profound to comrades across the world.

Text: 4 years ago, members of Valleys Underground went to the Cefn Forest Miners Institute to help the locals rebuild it. It was derelict and out of use, left to rot, a physical manifestation of what neoliberalism has done to Wales. It was missing floorboards, windows were bricked over, holes in the roof had flooded rooms. Wales once had over 200 halls like this once, all went the same way Cefn forest was going.
