The Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative Commission, also known as NRIC, was established by the Atlanta City Council to guide and provide oversight for the City’s Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative. The initiative is a long-term effort led by Mayor Andre Dickens, the City of Atlanta, and community partners to strengthen historically underserved neighborhoods across the city. The goal is to make Atlanta the best city in the nation to raise a child by investing in housing, infrastructure, transit, and community amenities in a way that is thoughtful, responsible, and equitable.

Georgia Department of Community Affairs limits the entire state to only 2 single-site PSH projects per year. This 55-unit development would consume 50% of Georgia's annual statewide PSH allocation in one Kirkwood neighborhood. Why does Georgia DCA impose such strict limits? Because state housing experts recognize the operational challenges and concentration risks of large single-site PSH facilities.
So why couldn't they just make the bike lanes part of the section of the sidewalk instead of the street. This way they have to adhere to the pedestrian lights instead of the street lights. If a car turns right and the bike is on the right, the bike should be forced to stop so the right lane turns.

The most immediate rail project — one that already has local funding, one that has strong ridership projections and one that could be implemented in the next three to four years — is the Eastside Trail. Why would the city put that project on the back burner when that corridor already has the development density of housing and jobs to support rail transit?
