(ray is wandering through the greenhouse, looking at arnold's drawing.) (he eventually sniffs one and finds it) ray: cold rain… this is the one! cat police: city property, ray. city property. ray: it's a plant.. cat police: city-adjacent property. ray: that isn't even a real thing! cat police: look, just explain why you are here. ray: i'm trying to help avery. she ate this carrot and now she's feral. i need this herb to save her! see, i even have the notes. *ray pulls out his journal which is just nonsense* cat police: ...did SHE write this? ray: uh, no. these were MY notes, i was documenting the whole thing. see it says… actually not too sure. cat police: …fine. you can go.
avery as an evil feral monster flips out, flips a table over, splits a banana in half, punches a hole in the wall, and then falls asleep
arnold: … look, ray. everyone makes mistakes. and sometimes we hurt the people closest to us due to our mistakes. but do you really think that should define us as a person? just don't feel bad about it, okay? we can figure something out, it should be easy. but i still need that DVD back. ray: you really know a cure? arnold: i've been a librarian for 40 years. (news in background: BREAKING! carrot from local contest gone missing!) (arnold turns his attention to the tv) newscaster, on tv: vernon truell was apart of the contest downtown, and stated this was his best carrot yet, and in what felt like a blink of an eye, the carrot had disappeared. he believes someone had to have stolen it. but for what purpose…? police are currently investigating the matter and will update us when it is found. (arnold looks at ray suspiciously) ray: …don't look at me?! i don't even know where the carrot in the fridge came from!
(ray walks over to the library) ray: gosh, what is it with this city? (ray goes over and opens the door to the library, and walks inside) (arnold is seen behind the counter) arnold: ah, good day, ray. still enjoying that DVD, eh? it's 2 days overdue now. no pressure, of course, but we kinda need it back. ray: *sigh* i'm working on it. arnold, something is wrong with avery! (arnold's face suddenly gets really serious) arnold: inform me. ray: she ate a carrot and then she transformed into this big monster! she won't speak, but can hiss?! arnold: a carrot...? you know, some rabbits react very, VERY poorly to carrots! she might have carotene-induced gigantomorphic lapine transmutation syndrome. ray: caro-what? arnold: ehhh… basically they just don't fare well with carrots. ray: does this mean this entire time the reason she hates carrots so much is because she literally can't eat them?! arnold: yes. ray: oh gosh… and it was my FAULT for why she ate that carrot! i put it into her stew not knowing, and… agh…
ray runs through the busy city, desperately trying to reach the library in time. vendor is seen who proceeds to start talking to ray. vendor: hey! want some of these delicious oatmeal cookies? that or any of the other glorious types! they're cheeaaaaaaaaaap ray: augh, right! it's cookie tuesday! that's like, the best day of the week! (ray contemplates for a bit.) ray: should i save my best friend first, or enjoy this savory treat, oh man, decision making is hard… *some random character pushes ray out of the way* incidental: PLEASE GIVE ME ALL YOUR COOKIES, NOW!
multi-panel comic. Ray: "Well, if I told you what I used in my STEW, then it wouldn't be a surprise! C'mon! Just try it out!" Avery sighs, and says "Fine. I'll play nice and assume you haven't poisoned me." She takes a bite. Avery freezes mid-bite, shocked. Ray asks, "...So? Five stars?" Avery, freaking out now: "What did you put in this?!?!" Ray: "OOH, I'm so glad you asked! There's some sludge, goop, metals, strawberry, some orange thing i saw in the fridge-- Avery: "Orange thing? Those were carrots! You put CARROTS in this!" Ray: "Yeah, so what? Everyone's gotta get over the food they don't like." "Avery: "It's... it's not that I 'hate' carrots, it's just that.. ugh... oh... crap..." her ear fops down
multi-panel comic. avery is talking to ray who is wearing a chef apron. Avery: "Why are you cooking?" Ray: "Well, GOOD MORNING, sunshine!" Avery: "I didn't say good morning. I asked why you were cooking." Ray: "Why Avery, that's because I am a GIVER! A nurturer! A man of the people!" Ray: "So um. Can you eat my stew, please...? Wouldn't want it to go to waste~!" Avery: "Don't start guilt tripping me." Ray: "The only thing you'll be tripping on is the masterwork that is that STEW!... I used a little bit of everything." close-up of the stew, which looks honestly disgusting. it is pixelated/censored Avery: "...I think I'm gonna need a list of the ingredients..."
panel 1: (HALLEY’S GRIPING INSPIRATIONAL STORIES THE SHOW!) panel 2: halley: welcome back to halley’s gripping… um... i forgot the name. see that snowman behind me? i built him a day ago! i call him pat. panel 3: (a meteor comes crashing down onto said snowman) halley: but sometimes a meteor crashes directly onto your snowman and it feels just so targeted! and it makes you sad. panel 4: halley: but you know what you CAN do?! build another snowman! and if that snowman feels lonely, then um, you build more snowmen! so it’s like um… it’s like… a metaphor, yeah.
