Agree with the passive cooling thoughts (I'm a big fan of the massive external wooden shades in the Mediterranean). On the time transfer - sure but it'd be more efficient to do the same time transfer in a power plant. Utility economies of scale are best! www.ise.fraunhofer.de/en/press-med...

Agree about utility level balancing but being on a flexible tariff esp. for EVs allows households some agency. As lifestyles change it is possible to make individual choices that help reduce costs & balance the grid. #Octopus has been doing this for years.

Absolutely. Closing blinds and curtains is working well for us during this heatwave, but it would be so much better if the sun was hitting outdoor blinds - much less solar gain & re-radiation into the room. Also overhangs that help shade windows - completely different architecture.
