Livsträd (Greatsword Form)
Weapon (greatsword), very rare (requires attunement by a champion of the World Tree or an individual trusted by the same champion)

Livsträd is a magical hilt that can be attached to any blade lacking a handle of its own. Livsträd is a gift from the World Tree itself, only to be bestowed to creatures who have proven themselves to be worthy as a champion of the World Tree, and the planes of existence that its roots are entangled in. As a shard of the World Tree, it has a small amount of sentience to it. Livsträd will attempt to lessen the burden of fighting by using its ethereal vines to gently lift, guide, or stabilize itself when being held by its attuned wielder.

To bind Livsträd to a new blade, the attuned wielder must hold Livsträd and the blade together over the course of a Long Rest. Once bound, the weapon gains the following properties:

Greater Versatility. If the weapon would normally have the Heavy or Two-Handed properties, it now lacks them and is also considered Versatile while the wielder is attuned to Livsträd. (For non-standard versatile die progression, consult your DM. Example: As a greatsword, Livsträd deals 2d6 damage when wielded in two hands, and deals 1d10 damage when wielded in one hand.)

Light Guidance. The weapon gains the Light property if it doesn't have it already. As Livsträd is able to use its energy to more accurately guide and propel itself, rather than stabilizing a heavier weapon, a weapon that would normally lack the Two-Handed or Heavy properties without Livsträd's assistance gain a 1d4 bonus to either its attack rolls or its damage roll using one of the weapon's associated damage types.

Planar Entanglement. Using a Magic Action, the wielder of Livsträd can expend a charge to cast Entangle. When casting Entangle in this way, small spectral vines lash out and attempt to restrain creatures walking through the newly overgrown foliage.
