We're getting a ray-tracing performance upgrade that doesn't require new hardware? That certainly seems to be the case as "Shader Execution Reordering" (SER) has officially arrived in the latest DirectX update (1/2)

With Microsoft's standardized version of SER, developers should have a much easier time implementing more efficient ray tracing and path tracing across more than just NVIDIA's cards (2/2)
