This is a mockup flowchart of *one* short conversation, and though we had to zoom out so far it's unreadable, you can see how dialogue changes not just based on your responses, but by previous choices you've made.

Characters in the world of Herald will react to you truthfully, and they won't forget what you've done -- for good or for ill. You won't be able to make everyone happy, and you'll have to make your peace with that.
