A friend gave me the jaguar faces Thursday. She'd meant to give them to me years ago. Finally happened. I added the feathers on each ear plus the rings at the top. I'm keeping 1 as an earring and using the other on a hair stick.
Pocket pouches made from old jeans only fit for the trash. I carefully seam ripped the original sewing, pockets and 2 belt loops. I then sewed the belt loops on one pocket. I'll sew them together after I sew in the velcro strip at the top of the pockets for secure closure. Then I'll carefully seam the outer edge. I'm particularly proud of keeping and carefully securing the red Levi tag to the edge of that pocket! 😁 These are intended for use with a belt, obviously... we all need extra pockets often, especially women's clothes without any at all!

Got 2 more chicken wishbones from this payday's rotisserie chicken traditional dinner. This is the first time hubby was careful with ravaging his prey. I gleefully claimed the prize intact. Meanwhile, Eros was loudly complaining that his chicken tax was unpaid. He was ready to file tax evasion charges. Hubby later confirmed that while delayed, taxes were indeed paid.

Star of David I sent my dad in 1976. He sent it back 5 years ago, when he was 82. He kept it almost 50 years. He knew his health was getting tricky, so he began sending his kids things he cared about that his wife would likely sell or throw away after he passed.

So, mom had this windchime hanging from her 80+ year old olive tree in her backyard. She decided it was time to clear the tree. It's completely rusted and the windcatcher had come off. Couldn't find it. So, I made a new one from a fake gold chain I found in the alley across the street and a vertebrae in my bone collection. It works!
Finally, I'm done untangling the yarn. It's spun into a cake, and reattached to the ongoing knitting project.

My 2 glass fishing floats. The smaller amber/brown one I was given by my step-great-uncle. My stepfather's family were a long lineage of fisherfolk based in Santa Barbara, California. This is where I was born. The netting had soaked in the waters off Santa Barbara for many decades of service before I received it at 12 years old in 1982. Yes, that's natural fiber netting, likely replacing older worn out ones. I've protected and cherished this connection with the coastal waters of my birth ever since. The float is blown from a recycled beer bottle, common in the US at one point. Uncommon in the wider world of glass floats these days, to my surprise! This is an original, actually used float, not a modern reproduction. The larger pale blue glass is the most common color, covered in this picture. I found it in a thrift store in the early 1990's, after I began my folk magic journey. I understood the magic possibility as soon as I saw it. It had a blue plastic netting that was in poor condition. I didn't mind, since I planned on removing it anyway. Plus, my littler float had its net in great condition. I keep the blue glass covered in a cloth when not using it. Protects from dust and sunlight. My amber float hangs in my magic workspace.

Divine Diversity Tarot Deck by Joe Phillips My choices for representing the Holly King (King of Cups), Summer Solstice (The Sun), and the Oak King (King of Wands). I chose based on the opposition of Fire and Water. Life, growth, action: requires heat and light. This is Fire. Rest, harvest, recharging: requires a cooler environment, often absence of light (think the chill of ocean's depths). This is Water. The wishbone with the Pentacle represents the joining point of two principles. When making a traditional wish using one, it takes two people to "break" the bone, with the one retaining the majority of the broken bone gaining the wish. It's a competition (battle) with a clear winner. It feels perfect for the contest of the Solstices between the Kings. Their outcome is predetermined but I feel the symbol is appropriate regardless. The triquerta disk... I'm always drawn to them. 🤷‍♂️

The waning moon at 3:30am. This time it really drew me. The rays in the picture form an X. My mind drifted to cancelation. Rejection of old patterns. Relief from wounds long held, where it drains vitality, healing, energy, and agency. As the moon cycles towards new moon, it is gathering everything into itself. Doubt, old fear, echoes of trauma, the trained nervous system clenched tight in vigilance, the mind's stubborn hold on the past. The waning moon is spooling all of like thread to a spindle. We can choose. Allow it or reject it. For the first time, I am in a place to sense what has always been available to me. This interaction with this phase of the moon has been doing this particular thing monthly my entire life. I was blind to it. I pulled it back, subconsciously. I wasn't ready until now. Now, after a year of consistently doing the therapy, doing the work, diving into darkness and coming up through it intact, I can finally acknowledge the waning moon's function and power. I can accept it doing the job it's done forever. I'm letting go. I'm releasing my dependence on my past. I'm allowing myself to take back my power. I'm making peace with my Shadow self. I'll allow myself to be a whole person of Light AND Darkness. Fear... let go. Scars... simply present, not dominant. Thoughts... balanced. Soul... recovered, present.

Wooden octagonal box with installed mirrors. Interior octagon mirrors are 4 inches across. Lid and base. The 8 sides are square 1.5 inch mirrors. They don't quite cover the wood. Plus, given the box is handmade individually, the octagonal space isn't perfectly symmetrical. Nor is the depth consistent . I don't mind. The effects will work as intended. I'm almost wanting, "I wish a bitch would!!!" Scorpio is peeking from the shadows... If you plan on making one, I definitely recommend you do a square or rectangular box instead of an odd shape. Even a simple 2 mirror (lid & base) in a circular set up would be effective. (Though, good luck finding an easy way to line the walls of a true circle).
