The grave of Bernard P. 'Bernie' Vander Sanden, born April 19th, 1945, died December 1st, 2021. His wife's name, Joy H. nee Galston, is also listed with a birth date of June 25th, 1948. A pair of rings depict their wedding date of April 8th, 1972, beneath a pair of crosses. At the bottom is the text "parents of: Rhonda, Patrick, Michael". A small American flag is flying behind the stone. The grass around the stone is green and healthy.

The photo is taken with a vintage camera lens, contributing to a washed-out appearance and significant vignetting. No cell phones are visible. Although the apparel is appropriate for 2023, the rest of the image looks like it might be from the 1980's. This was not the photographer's intention, but they're pleased.
The photo was taken at twilight standing in the middle of State Street, on the 200 block, and the Wisconsin State Capitol is in the center, strongly lit in the evening sky. Facing a red light at the Dayton/Fairchild intersection, the street trees are green again after the winter.

Tree bark and fallen leaves are rendered in green, while the leaves on the trees are rich in chlorophyll and rendered in pink, as chlorophyll is highly reflective of infrared light in addition to green. The scene has a dream-like appearance.
