It's much improved. We got really into it again around when Det. Pikachu came out and played pretty solidly for like 5-6 years after that but along the way we moved states and lost the great raid group we'd built. The high end requires more and more friends/coordination to get the really cool stuff
This guy was kind of a pain to catch.
