NEW COUNCILS FOR WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY TO BE SPLIT INTO TWO NORTH AND SOUTH UNITARY AUTHORITIES "Now that we have a clear diktat from the government, it's time to get working for the people of Worcestershire. "There have been many differences of opinion, but the drive now has to be to work together across districts to shape the best possible services for all. "We want to ensure a smooth transition as we move towards the creation of two new unitary authorities. "Our aim, always, is to put residents first and to ensure services will deliver for local people, businesses and communities. "We will also be looking after our hard-working council staff throughout the transition period. They have a huge task ahead, on top of the day-to-day running of the existing authorities. "There will be concerns along the way. One big priority will be to protect adult social care and children's services, which may mean some shared working between north and south... Page 1 of 2

Zia Yusuf, Reform's home affairs spokesman, has now disclosed that none of the new centres would be built in areas that elect Reform councillors or MPs. "Even though illegal migrants will not be allowed to leave the sites, we are committing to not placing these detention sites in areas with a Reform MP or where Reform controls the council," he told The Telegraph. "Given the Green Party advocates for open borders and for an infinite number of undocumented men to come here, we will prioritise Green constituencies and Green-controlled councils to locate these detention centres. "This is the fairest approach to ensuring democratic consent for all aspects of our mass deportation programme."

Refugees are trapped for months and years in hotels at great expense, unable to work and given the bare minimum to live. The British taxpayer gets incredibly poor value for money, while charlatans and fascists intimidate the most desperate people. The people, and they are people, in Fownes Hotel are welcome in our country and I am proud to stand with them. If you are angry that they are there, take it up with the Government. Write to your local councillor, write to your MP. We must process the backlog. We must tackle the housing crisis - the Government spends £20 billion a year on housing British people in rented accommodation, but won’t fund councils like ours to build its own accommodation. No more paying to delay, ignore and distract”
