At a time when the Atlantic has never felt wider, the World Cup was a pointed reminder that America still possesses a shine dazzling enough to entrance the rest of the world. 🔗 wsj.visitlink.me/mTSopC

Are you guys delusional?

Chris⚖️Justice · 21d

Not feelin' it

Nikita Warrior Kitty · 21d

Hahaha omggggggg that’s a hilarious take! Would be funnier if innocent people weren’t being killed by this racist, war criminal government. Global sentiment of the USA is BLEAK aF right now but go off 😂 a few TikTok’s about American food and WSJ calls it “dazzling” 😂

Snicks · 21d

Slow your roll, WSJ.

Elfkin · 21d

Ranch dressing. Who knew?

Sinema's Enema · 20d

Nah. This was planned for years. No country in their right mind would have done so had they known there would be a Gestapo 2.0, a corrupt dying fascist, and a bunch of literal Nazis at the helm.

😂😂😂🙏

Let’s not forget that 4 countries were not allowed to bring their fans because of the US Regime’s xenophobic policies.

Davi Arruda · 21d

ICE patrolling stadiums, visa bans, and referees denied entry. Trump intervening in red cards.... And to be honest - football itself was boring. This World Cup wasn't a "soft power win" for us ... it was a corporate, heavily policed, and dull embarrassment.

@mobilenighthawk.bsky.social · 21d

Yeah, sure. In your dreams.

2Jacks · 21d

It’ll take a lot more than a fucken World Cup event ⚽️ to repay the world, America. 🇺🇸

@stoutenstom.bsky.social · 21d

Errrr. No. Rest of the World speaking here. This was one of the most cringy World Cups ever and I don’t think any of us saw anything dazzling at all.

Frau Sturmflut · 20d

Complete horseshit and another clear sign for how the US has lost connection and is completely unable to imagine a world that doesn't revolve around them. Go ahead believing in fairytales and Santa.

@spookybutkind.bsky.social · 21d

Is this what it looked like from there? The rest of the world understands football better and knew that the stadium for the final was a mess, and the commercial breaks/extended halftime broke up the rhythm of the game. The worst part of the halftime show was the only American performer.

Alan The Smitheest · 21d

Bullshit. Trump tainted the US with his actions and his attempt to make the WC all about him. I’m glad the US crapped out after he tried to manipulate the game to the US’ favor. Trump made America an embarrassment.

Jonty Edwards · 21d

Trump will erase any goodwill by the end of the day.

maria carolina · 21d

hummm…no

September · 21d

Who told you that nonsense?

Johane Tremblay · 21d

The US did not win over the world with the World Cup. We were cheering for these great teams from all over the world, except for the cheating US team.

Peter Nieuwland · 21d

Too wide apparently for the WSJ.

KIIVICH · 21d

There's no version of events where "U.S wins the world".

America only shines for the rich! And it's getting wose for the working class who struggle for the basics of survival.

Damian · 21d

WSJ out here with the propaganda machine cranked up to 12. No, thats definitely 💯 NOT whats happening. America is an embarrassment. Grow some balls for real journalism WSJ.

@ydsink.bsky.social · 21d

What nonsense 😒 do better wsj...that's actually a laughable headline

Zabba Blue · 20d

Trump ruined it, as expected. What a douchebag and national disgrace.

Tadack · 21d

It didn't do enough to persuade me to return to vacation in the #US pre 2029 ...and I'm Scottish. And the half time entertainment was enough for me to switch channels for 20 minutes!! Why does everything have to be monetised under #Trump?

Tom Fun · 20d

😂 Is this ironic? Rest of the world thinks you’re a basket case country with a POS leader. It’ll be remembered as the only time a president interfered to cheat the rules. Even Qatar and Russia didn’t do that!
