Ronald Read spent his life working as a gas station attendant and janitor while living frugally. He saved and invested until he had $8 million. At 92, he left $4.8 million to the local hospital and $1.2 million to the library. He gave up comforts for himself so others could benefit.

Imagine if he'd started from money - would have made Trump, Musk etc look like amateurs.

This sounds more like a lucky series of investments than a work-hard-and-succeed-within-the-system story. Unless he was the highest paid gas station attendant in the history of petroleum? Maybe as part of a money laundering scheme? Would explain why someone spent their whole life in a crappy job.

We need more Ronald Reads. I’m looking at you selfish fucking billionaires. You’ve got more than you’ll ever need in 10 lifetimes. Be a Ronald, not some kiddy-diddling shit head who thinks your wealth will protect you from any consequences for crimes you commit.
