To understand how analysts like me (assuming anyone is actually like me) think, here's how I parse a bragging point from AMD's earnings call.

The point: "In cloud, we exited 2024 with well over 50% share at the majority of our largest hyperscale customers."

In cloud ==> we're cherry-picking a segment
we exited 2024 ==> we're extrapolating a brief run-rate figure
with well over 50% share ==> some value less than 60%
at the majority ==> more than 50% by count, not value
of our largest ==> not the largest in the world, just the largest that already buy from us
hyperscale customers. ==> any company we choose, there's no firm definition of "hyperscale"

I'm only using AMD as an example, and I don't mean to suggest that they aren't doing well. I'm only saying that earnings calls are full of a lot of feel-good statements that don't mean much.
