I have avoided commenting on most of Candace Owens's claims the past few months. However, her latest episode contains such a blatant untruth about Charlie's daily life that I feel compelled to correct it.

In this episode, Candace Owens aggressively ridicules Erika for using the phrase "Shabbot shalom," and suggests that Charlie's last book, "Stop in the Name of God," about the value of observing the Sabbath, is a fabrication to make Charlie appear more pro-Jewish and pro-Israel than he really was.

It's very revealing that Candace would fixate on this, as it immediately reveals unfamiliarity with Charlie's behavior for the entire period that I knew him. Charlie was observing his evangelical Christian version of "shabbat" for the entire time I worked under him. As a Catholic who sees Sunday as the Christian sabbath, I would tease Charlie about this! Even in early 2023, shortly after I joined the show, he was signing off his Friday shows with "Shabbat shalom." No one disputes that America shouldn’t rely on adversarial nations for critical agricultural inputs. That’s common sense. But “bringing production home” cannot mean shielding chemical manufacturers from accountability when their products are tied to cancer claims, environmental damage, and devastated farming communities.

If pesticides are toxic by design (engineered to kill living organisms and explode bug’s stomachs) then legal accountability should be part of the system.

Over the past decade, chemical manufacturers have paid tens of BILLIONS to settle claims related to products like glyphosate-based herbicides. That level of settlement volume should tell you they ain’t innocent. Granting immunity erodes public trust. I’ve interviewed so many farmers on my show and they agree that we can:
•Strengthen domestic production
•Invest in regenerative agriculture
•Scale precision technologies
•Support farmers in transitioning away from chemical dependence
AND
•Protect national security

All of that WITHOUT telling families harmed by these chemicals that their day in court no longer matters.

True reform means breaking the cycle of chemical dependence and corporate capture, not deepening it. If we’re serious about MAHA that includes making sure powerful corporations answer to the same legal standards as everyone else.
