Fortunately, as he matured, he started exercising more restraint in school and routinely contained his anger and frustration until he got home. We were also lucky to have special education teachers with deep reservoirs of understanding and patience. I still get near tears when I think about them. I have nothing but love for these unsung heroes who were there for him when he needed them most and also when it was the hardest to willingly show that compassion.
