The empty nest of UK's smallest mouse species, the Harvest Mouse (Micromys minutus), on a leather desktop with a 50-pence piece alongside for scale. The nest is a tennis ball sized sphere made from the thin densely-woven leaves of wild grasses. Some of the grass leaves are still green but most have turned brown. There appears to be a small entrance in the nest.
