Rep Nolan West: Let's be honest here. Governor Walz and Mayor Frey are incapable of stopping the mob even if they wanted to. With that in mind, there are two options. The first: The federal government enacts a level of violence that we haven't seen in over a century to restore order. The second: The federal government ends Operation "Metro Surge" and allows the pent-up fury to dissipate. I don't even see that as a choice. Regardless of the rule of law or enforcing immigration law, I care about the actual human beings involved. It's clear that Operation "Metro Surge" is causing more harm than good. It puts law enforcement officers' lives at risk and it feeds the chaos destroying our state. Yes, our state is crumbling because those leaders refused to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement, but the fact remains: this must end.
