A story of a tough childhood and drug addiction with a political dimension too. Built around Charles Dickens' David Copperfield. Which I shall read next. #booksky

I loved this book. My recommendations as to what next - anything by Andrew Miller, especially Pure. The Land in Winter is brillant if a little bleak.

Its the only book of hers I've not read....yet. I don't know why I wasn't drawn to the Dickens subject. I have now added it to tbr. Her much earlier work The Poisinwood Bible is my favourite.
