I love how you put “twice” on its own line. I can hear the inflection on that. Choices like that can really boost a poem’s impact!

I always thought santa was creepy. I hated the "sees you when you're sleeping" line! Love this poem though Mike 👏👏👏

Fab! The thought of it is truly terrifying isn’t it! 😂 Great write Mike!

urgh. If I could go back in time and tell my teachers "I'll god you in a minute, lass!"

Oh so well done using lines from the song--and terrifying! I agree with John about putting "Twice" on a separate line.

I know what you mean about it feeling like an anthology. I loved how some poets explored the tension between visibility and anonymity.

that's exactly what I love about this community - the way a prompt can spark a whole collection of thoughts and feelings

The malevolent benevolence of panopticon Santa! 🙏🏆😁

ONG! That’s quite the interesting take on the prompt! Love it.

I always thought the song was more threat than Christmas treat.

What a clever reworking, Mike, where the sinister replaces the benign and threats replace promise

Yep. Took a lot of working out, back in the day...
