Bargain for Power 5th-level invoker feature You can sacrifice a portion of your health in order to increase your spellcasting power. As a bonus action, you can spend hit dice to create a single spell slot. The spell slot you create is equal to the number of hit dice you spend, but it cannot be greater than the maximum spell level that you can prepare (see Table: The Invoker). The spell slot you create will persist for up to 1 minute if not used, after which time it is lost. Once you create a spell slot in this way, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
