When I was a kid, my sister and I got home from school. My dad's front windshield was busted and there was some blood on the window. We ran into our house and dad was there ok. A pheasant had slammed into the windshield and dad brought it home, out in our shed. We got to see the bird who was OK.

Brings back memories of nursing a Cooper's hawk back to health. Don't ever involve the zoo or government. They forced me to give her to them after she was better only to lock her in a box with only water. Evil entities

My daughter just saved an injured pigeon. She had a wing brace 3D printed, cared for it until it was healed and ready to go back out in the world.

your doing the right thing and now you have a friend for life, because they will remember, return and protect the place in thier own way. If your lucky, they will have decedents in the area too.

The rehab said if her wing heals fast enough then they’ll re-nest her, but she’s at an age where it’s more likely they’ll prepare her for the wild. If the wing takes too long and she becomes dependent on humans, they’ll find an experienced falconer to adopt her. How I wish I could be that person.
