The biwa is musical instrument that came to Japan from Central Asia via the Silk Road.
奈良時代には伝来し、現代までに日本の風土に合わせた多種多様な琵琶がある。
It was introduced in the Nara period, and up to the present day there are a wide variety of biwa that are tailored to the Japanese climate.
