One time, when I was birding, I heard myself say, “Oh, it’s just a Catbird” when I was hoping to see another bird. I instantly regretted my choice of words. I now feel the need to apologize to every Catbird I see. J/k, but for real, I do enjoy them very much and I don’t take them for granted.
