The only way that a tariff can be paid by the exporting (foreign) country to the US is if they supply goods on a DDP basis - delivered, duty (tariff) paid. This is only really done on small shipments or those sent via couriers, like DHL, UPS & so on (b/c they have the ability to effectively

Oh, he doesn't think consumers paid those tariffs? I guess he has servants who do his shopping, then, and is rich enough he didn't notice the prices going up on everything. I lost a supplier for a crucial part for my small business when the tariffs hit, because they couldn't pay the costs up front.

Sounds like a great time to subpeona some business owners who import tariffed goods. Especially smaller operations like board game stores. But also larger ones where the tariffs were explicitly listed on customers' bills. I'm sure we could pretty easily get an overwhelming amount of testimony.

I am in sales for an international company and we absolutely do pass on a portion of the tariff to our customers as a "Duty Surcharge." This month my company removed this surcharge and simply raised all our prices across the board.

I can show him the invoices that I, as US manufacturer, have to pay to get critical parts that are unavailable except as tariffed- taxed- imports. And explain how that makes us less competitive against foreign competition that doesn't have to pay these taxes.

let's make it simple if you import a hockey stick from Canada for 50 dollars a tariff would make that hockey stick cost 75 dollars. The 50 percent tariff is paid by the American company who will surely past that cost to the consumer.

I work in international trade.....we are seeing prices go up, not down, because of supply chain disruption, so foreign pricing isn't reducing as Greer said. It does NOT matter if he concedes this point or not, because he's just flat out wrong.

Tariffs are paid by the importer, period! I work with importers and lost clients during that bullshit because of it. Amazon and even Walmart online is mostly made up of small businesses importing and selling on those platforms. When they import, they pay the tariffs, not Amazon, not Walmart.
Importers pass the tariffs to the businesses. The businesses pass them to us the consumer. Businesses get refunds for the tariffs we paid. We get nothing. Our tax money will pay for the refunds. We pay twice. It was all a scam to steal from us.
