A satellite image from 2010 shows a drained forestry site, with an incised stream running through non-native plantation and clear-felled blocks. Following felling FLS chose natural regeneration over restocking Sitka, and young native trees soon established. [2/5]

Beavers arrived around 2014–15 and quickly reshaped the landscape, building dams that reconnected the stream to its floodplain, rewetted the site and created rich habitat for a wide range of species. [3/5]
