Does anyone else still own DVDs? For me, they’re nice to look at and there’s a sense of ownership that’s been lost in the age of digital downloads 📀

My son (25/autistic) loves his DVDs. He can loop a favorite section or sound easier than with other media.

Lauren Nicole · Jun 7

I do! These are my pride and joy.

Molly McAleer · Jun 10

Mostly just the Picket Fences DVDs and some poorly ripped versions of The Real World.

Catherine Russell · Jun 7

No, I wish I did. Hubby chucked ‘em!

James Nock · Jun 7

I’ve never sold a DVD or a CD, I love having a physical copy that big tech can’t remove my rights to later on.

Jack Eason · Jun 7

If only I could stop. This is the pile that I haven't sorted into the main shelf yet. Not sure there's even room for them. I need to start selling off some stuff.

Shenanigans · Jun 7

Binders full of them.

Evan Minto · Jun 7

I still collect a lot of anime DVDs and Blu-rays! I like to know that I own them and don't have to rely on streaming service contracts to access them.

Daedalus · Jun 17

I use to have an entire blu-ray collection I was proud of but had to sell once I moved states 😔

Chuck Sanders · Jun 7

I still own Laserdiscs!

Grayce · Jun 8

I buy things I really like or are hard to watch elsewhere without a subscription. 😅

Cate 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 · Jun 7

I just noticed that Muppets collection! wow! i'm jealous

Cate 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 · Jun 7

this ^^^ I have a few but I'll sure buy a few when I have the money. surely starting from Spike Jonze's Her

Dylan Martin · Jun 7

I don't own DVDs, but I have started a collection of Blu-ray discs. Plus, I try to buy as many new games in physical form as I can, and I have a trove of retro games for PC and console.

Jeanette G · Jun 7

Hell, I still have my VHS tapes 😅🤪🤣

TamiFromMiami · Jun 8

We have 2 crates full of hard to find and original Disney movies!

HerbalCrone · Jun 7

I do, but not nearly as many as you 🙂

Matthew Martin-Ellis · Jun 9

🙋🏻‍♂️ I still have blu rays for my favourite films. Most films I don’t buy physically and I did purge a lot in my last move, but I still have a few dozen favourites and add a few per year.

Aaron Haber · Jun 7

I keep some based on artwork or if I absolutely love the movie. And I know everyone craps on NFTs but that is digital ownership of your media that can never be taken away (and you can transfer or sell it if you like).

Ashley Durkin-Rixey · Jun 7

We have VHS still. This is a home where dead media lives on.

Curiosity Cat · Jul 2

*Absolutely* do. I try to have hard copies (CDs, DVDs, books) of everything that's important to me.

Cabal17 · Jun 7

I've mostly switched to blu-rays, but yes. I have a ridiculous amount of physical media.

John O'Callaghan · Jun 18

Still love my collection. It's great to just lose time looking over them.

ᴡᴏsᴢᴄᴢʏɴᴀᴡɪᴇsɴᴏᴡsᴋɪ.ᴇᴛʜ · Jun 7

Yes! We have quite a collection… the thing is we didn’t watch any for a decade…

Rich · Jun 7

Not really but i still wish to own physical copies of my faves

𝔻𝕠𝕞𝕚𝕟𝕚𝕔 · Jul 2

It's the same here, but for CDs. I recently converted all my CDs into FLAC digital files. It's handy, but it doesn't have the same effect as having a CD in your hand.

Sir. Little Lemon 🍋🍋‍🟩 · Jun 7

Yes some, but I don’t even have gadgets to play them anymore 🤡😂

🌹🚂Milady · Jun 7

Yeah!! DVDs and Blue Rays...

Wickym · Jun 7

Yes, I do. And with Disney/20th Century Fox doing things like censoring old movies, physical media is more important than ever!

Fernando Gros · Jun 7

I still have DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. But I threw all my cases away years ago and only keep the discs and inserts. Same with CDs. They take up too much space and I move too often. But, I’ve hardly bought discs in any format for many years/ Vinyl on the other hand is an active and growing collection.

I know a local coffee shop here in Tehran which still use to play music with CDs

TRML - (he/him) Elder Millennial Goth 🌟 🦇 · Jun 7

Hell yeah I do. With streaming companies removing shows and movies more now than ever, they're a must to always be able to watch your favorite shows/movies.

POTUS · Jun 7

Yeah, I have tons of DVDs and Blue Rays tbh!

Hank & Townes’s Mom · Jun 7

I regret getting rid of a bunch of my DVDs.

CrazyP̆̈ĕ̈p̆̈ĕ̈🫀🧠👁️ · Jul 7

I do... It's part of my own personal collection of ONLY those movies that deserves to be preserved and heritage

Annaleigh Watts 🇲🇽 · Jun 7

I don't have DVDs but that's how I feel about books, my Kindle library is not that impressive unless maybe you're rooting around in my phone!

Jeremy A Williams 🥥 🌴 🔵 · Jun 7

CDs were my kryptonite in the late 90s/early 2000s

amelia "rem" jane · Jun 7

i gave away all my dvd's years ago but i have the same feeling about my cassette tapes, this is most of them

So and so · Jun 7

I do! Maybe half as many as you do (as pictured at least). Just my absolute all time faves, esp if they have special features. Haven’t had a tv for a few years, just font have space, but haven’t been able to part w the dvd player and xbox 🤓

JayIsPainting 🍁 · Jun 7

Hundreds. And CDs too. And Vinyl. I have gotten rid of my VHS tapes & cassettes.

Steve · Jun 7

Forgot to mention music on CDs too

Steve · Jun 7

And still buying them when possible. Also building shelves for them in our theater 🙃

Mr. Fresh™️ 📡 · Jun 7

Yep, I do. CDs too.

Chris Charla · Jun 7

Most of my ~200 DVDs are in a binder now, but I still have ~40 in the cases. (And I still buy DVDs and BluRays!)

bells ✨ · Jun 12

I used to have those disney animations VHS, but my mother had the greatest idea of giving it away to my cousins, who were small children and didn't understand how precious those tapes were and completely ruined them. I, to this day, regret allowing my mother giving my favorite movies away.

jameshjacksonjr · Jun 7

Dvds and Vinyl here.
