Average walking speed is 3 miles an hour Unless they live here they should walk

Ten minutes' walk for a kid 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s just possible that there is no safe way for them to walk. This does happen and then people can be forced to drive. Unlikely but not impossible.

They could walk it in less than half the time - and the little boy would probably prefer that anyway.

When still in Bristol I sent my youngest to a forest preschool that had a mile walk from the drop off to the woods. The preschool nearly didn't get Ofsted approval until they showed Germans doing that walk on a daily basis. Half mile in a car is just insane.

I'm in my 50s and can walk it quicker than that.

I heard about those new inventions. They are called safety bicycles. I hope that will help : )

I walked to nursery school at the age of four by myself. I used to yell across the busy port road for my mum to come out and see me across the road. She must have loved me. She always did come out.
