My hubby and kid love their Chevy Bolts. I still love my fuel-efficient compact 4cyl turbo car (I barely drive and it's good when we do occasional long road trips through rural areas without ample charger locations)...but my next vehicle will definitely be an EV, as well.
Please enjoy those feelings for both having the new car AND it being less expensive to 'fill up'!😁 We're older and while we'd luv a new/EV vehicle, our budgets probably will have the current 10 yr old vehicle we use, be the last car we own. #ToyotaBuiltToLast 😉

I know it’s borderline catty but I get some satisfaction telling people that I hadn’t noticed the increase in gas prices because I am electric!
Admirable but how much did the EV and a charger cost? You can triple the cost of gas and it would still take several years for me to break even on buying an EV as my payments are zero, insurance is cheap, and I do all my own care. I don't discredit EVs at all as I won't buy a new gas car either.

It's a great feeling.. I look at the gas prices going up daily. Also my EV is safe from someone stealing gas which will be an issue as gas prices rise.

You’ll be happy with that Chevy. I bought mine a year ago and I will never buy a gas powered car again. I think you have virtually the same power plant that my truck has. These things are stupid fast off the line and the best part is it’s a GM product that doesn’t suck. PS I still love diesel.

Great! At least Canada has nuclear power plants. Here in the US, though, most electricity is generated using natural gas or coal, so there's not a lot to be smug about.

Availability and the price of electricity is still linked to oil and gas prices, despite the fact that many countries have significantly lowered their dependence on oil and gas for its generation.
How long will your battery last and how much $$ to replace?

In France we’ve got 2 EVs & solar panels. We just had the payout for our 1st year’s electricity production & it turns out last year we paid €45pm to power the 2 cars and a 5-bed, fully electric house - gadgets, hot, water, electric underfloor heating, cooking, washing/drying clothes.. cher-ching!💰😉
Keep on searching for charging stations and enjoy the charging time. Besides, roughly 10% of electricity to charge your EV is coming from solar and wind worldwide, the rest is still coal, oil and gas. Last but not least, how many PS your EV have. 100, 200, 300, 400 😈?

I don't understand how EVs are not more popular. If you drive less than 200 miles per day, you really would be better off with a EV.

I had the same experience when I got my EV almost two years ago. Also took a photo of the gas prices a couple day later. When I see it in my photos it reminds me that I made the right choice.

I drive a hybrid 4WD and don't worry about charging stations that use coal fired power anyway, here is fossil fuel bought Colorado. No paid power to the house either, all DIY solar. Sweat equity keeps paying.
Exactly my feeling when I purchased my #EV in July. You get over it after a while. But I still check gas/diesel prices since we get lots of things delivered via diesel trucks.
