So I'm in love with this section of Mythic Bastionland. It contains 30 pages of play examples with side-by-side interpretations of how the players are engaging with the rules. I've seen play examples before, obliviously, but the way they're presented here feels unique & scratches my brain right.

Looks like Chris actually wrote about the thought that went into this bank of play examples! www.bastionland.com/2023/03/oddp...

Yeah that mix of the example GM having a very particular style of their own, making rulings outside of the game, and sometimes bad decisions, and then Chris's voice stepping in at the side and saying "now how would you have done things differently knowing what you do?" is a great teaching tool.

Ohhhh yes, that's good stuff

I love how the fictional game master does things outside the rules. Sometimes new players need to see that is viable.

Oh I am eating this up

I'm in complete agreement. And I think it's a must-have, when you write as short and concise rules as Chris does. He's first in class for this sort of thing. Even when I don't run one of his games, I tend to fall back on his GM tips and tricks from this and his other books.
