What do you notice about the City of LA's budget priorities over the past 13 years? 🤔 I'll point out one thing: the department that maintains, preserves, and enhances our roads, sidewalks, and trees has a SMALLER operating budget than it did 13 years ago! Know which one? 🛠️

If funding, the #police was gonna work, wouldn’t it have worked by now? What if for ONE decade we put that money into education, for EVERYONE, upgraded the curriculum w/that funding, then looked at the data to see the effects. What if? Tax dollars are literally wasted on a dysfunctional system

(The Operating Budget is the best indicator on how much a department is funded to actually get things done (it includes payroll costs, equipment costs, and expense costs to operate the department)).

This is a great infographic on the budget but I wish you would make an effort to use alt text so people with low or no vision can access it.
