The 🇪🇺Parliament has ratified the terms. It is the US which is breaking the terms of the deal with this new tariff threat. Appeasement has not worked.

If they had any balls we would go after the US tech companies that are violating EU rules anyway. The only thing holding their stock market up insthe AI bubble. Just speed up the inevitable

Appeasement never works. It would be best for the world to isolate the U.S. from itself as much as possible at this point. I understand Europe now receives most of Canada's aluminum now. That's a good start.

EU has no hand to play because it is by design, a rules based institution and the US isn’t playing by any rules. No EU leader can unilaterally take any position, they must go through a process to arrive at a consensus. Oh! And they have no military to enforce their will. So they clutch papers.
The deal should be dead. But the EP had not ratified it yet? Didnt they send it (to the anger of national politicians) to a court evaluation of some sort, playing for time? Or was that done and ratification then happened? It may easily have slipped past me.

Who would ha e thought! Time to stand up against the bully! Why are our European leaders in Brussels such cowards? If Trump want's to charge 25% tarifs let him do it, just charge digital service tax of 30% (but charge companys), stop exporting ASML EUV technology stating Security concerns! Done!

I was initially surprised that so many countries bowed down to the tariffs, everyone knows that appeasement never works with bullies. The best the west can do with T now is ignore him until he goes away. Search for new markets for their products and move forward without USA.

That was to be expected. Agreements should only be made with partners whom one knows to be trustworthy. Anyone who thought or thought Trump was trustworthy hasn't understood anything and is out of touch with reality.

The pathetic spectacle of Europeans clinging to the terms of their surrender even as the US side flagrantly violates the deal has been hard to watch. We can't go on like this. It's time for Europe to drop the appeasement and say the deal is off.
