I ran my first half marathon on Saturday!! It was so hard 馃槴馃槄 I only started running this year and I used to think I couldn't run a 5k but I ended up running 2 5ks, 2 10ks and now a half marathon! 馃く I'd like to try a full marathon next year but I really don't know how I could run for twice as long 馃拃

More than 10k is boring & takes from your life rather than adds to it

Congratulations!! I did my first 1/2 in 2014. Liked it but decided my preference is 8k and 10k to get my mental health benefits.

There are some who think the half distance is just perfect! Due to the potential for (more) injuries, I love halfs, and won't do any race where I can't go out and run the next day. #:')

Gradually increase your training distance over the next year, every weekend just a couple of kms further, include hills, you can do it. I've run 7 marathons

Pretty slick after a year of training! One or two more runs at that distance and they'll start to feel like warm-ups 馃槈. You could definitely go for a marathon. Congratulations, well done! 馃挭

Congrats - that's freaking awesome!!! Full marathons are a whole 'nother ballgame when it comes to the training and nutrition to support it. Lots of good stuff out there to support you with that journey and best of luck!

Kudos! I ran my first 21K this year, and it was tough. I'll aim for a better time next year before attempting a full marathon.
