The graph in the OP is cumulative emissions, not per capita. Here's cumulative for the U.S. and China side by side (though '24, not through '25 as Ember doesn't have that yet). It's frustrating because CA just passed majority solar, but TX increases likely negated impact on yearly trend, we'll see.
