I am very much in that second category, and I am a big fan of Arc for their "self-closing tabs" concept. Like, I have workspaces, I have some pinned stuff... but mostly I want to have like up to 10 tabs open at any one time, and to not have to think about them once I stop using them

Love the vision to evolve the browser out of its artificially limited role (as a client) into one more representing the individual behind it. Something like PDS + Search +local LLM = fuuuutur Browser 😁

I'm in between. I'll normally have a few tabs open but I'll sometimes have 20-50 and then I go through them, get what I wanted from them, and close them. It's kind of like the Creative Process diagram from lostgarden.com/2010/08/17/v...

Yesterday my computer was a bit sluggish, so I closed 4000 tabs. Of course, I exported all my tabs as easily machine readable JSON first (much better than bookmarks, though I have about 100k of those too).
