Weak and unforgivable. Andy Burnham must use defence bonds to inject £20 billion and make the DIP fit for purpose. This Armed Forces Day, the brave personnel who serve our country need not just our thanks, but our backing and the tools to keep us safe.

Presumably you, as a LibDem PM, would do this? How would @libdems.org.uk fund it?

The bond market already has the government by the testicles and you want to give it even more debt power. For the love of god, increase income tax, bring in a wealth tax, close tax avoidance loop holes.

Military Industrial Complex to Ed:

Still using a platform that in your words is "allowing online harm to children" then Ed?

You are kidding. 20bn. Make the country fit for purpose not DIP

David Norris · Jun 27

£20bn over 2 years. Then what?

Duncan · Jun 27

Yeah, more guns, fewer hospitals, get a fucking grip

@scousin.bsky.social · Jun 29

dude! you went into government with the tories & starved kids.

I suppose we could also put up student loans to help pay for more defence spending.

Safe from whom exactly? And with nearly a third of kids in poverty already, how many more need to be pushed into it to defend against... the Russians? The Chinese? The Yanks? What do we need- more nukes? Tanks? Drones? Vague notions of risk to impoverish people further.
