A dumb fuck is a fuck who is dumb. A dumbfuck is a whole specific type of person.
Which is more egregious, dumbfucks or dumb fucks? I'm tempted to say the latter, as the pause takes additional enmity.

"Dumb fucks" definitely has a different meaning from "dumbfucks." The former emphasizes the fuckness of the people in question (spoken, it is "dumb FUCKS"), whereas the latter places their dumbness and fuckness in equipoise (spoken, it is "dumbfucks").
