I read this as a kid and I took a friend to the movie for my birthday. I loved it. She said it was the worst movie she’s ever seen.
I thought it was fun and solid and pretty... But it's been forever since I've seen it and I'm grown up now...
My wife loves this movie. It's her guilty pleasure. I don't think it's a bad film, and it's more than OK. I think the title worked against it, and maybe the choice of how he leaps in Mars gravity. I admit, that just came off as looking goofy the first time I saw it, but it's pretty true to the book
