The image is a “Types of Headaches” meme. It shows three classic headache types with red pain zones on a head diagram: - “Migraine” with pain on the front/side of the head. - “Hypertension” with pain around the back/top of the head. - “Stress” with a band of pain around the forehead. The fourth panel is edited to say “Heat wave” and replaces the head diagram with a red map of France, with the west and north of the map bright red.

On PC we shipped both Deferred Shading with TAA as a default and Forward Shading with MSAA as an option. The decision was made at some point during development since some people on the team felt that TAA did not give us the same sharp and crisp image we had on Anno 1800 with MSAA. But it forced us to maintain both a deferred and a forward rendering path in our engine, which caused a ton of issues and doubled shader permutations. With MSAA we had issues with noise since a lot of features rely on a temporal component. MSAA with RT is a pain (do not have the temporal smoothing PLUS multiple samples per pixel), our only solution was to trace in higher resolution :( Testing all possible settings permutations was a nightmare The big question is: was it worth the effort? Only ~1.14% of PC players play with MSAA and we would not make the same decision today.

Excerpt from the original JFA algorithm paper: "From our experiments on many runs of JFA with different number of seeds, we observe all errors occurring mainly along the boundaries of Voronoi cells. More specifically, for Voronoi cells along the boundary of the grid, grid points with errors can cluster around Voronoi edges; for the other Voronoi cells, all grid points with errors, with one exception out of millions of runs, are Voronoi vertices or cluster around Voronoi vertices. This is fortunate as all computed Voronoi diagrams do not have unpleasant looks of “holes” within any Voronoi cells. Additionally, this indicates the importance to analyze errors due to Voronoi vertices. To this end, we have worked out Property 5 to Property 7 as follows."
