TL;DR: Nothing has changed for DACA. Renewals continue, even in Texas. First-time DACA applications are accepted by USCIS but not processed.

In January 2025, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals sent the #DACA case back to Judge Hanen in Texas with two instructions: → 1. Narrow his ruling so it only applies to Texas. → 2. Consider whether, in Texas, work permits should be separated from deportation protection.
