Jack Herrington @jherr.dev · Dec 4 So this finally happened after 13 years of owning a SawStop and never triggering it. Saved my thumb, which is 👍. I had definitely gotten a little careless with my table saw safety. Hopefully the saw is ok. Won't know until I pick up another cartridge tomorrow.

At my former maker space we had a SawStop and a wall of Shame/Learning opportunities. We had 8 cartridges and the saw blades mounted up on the wall, thankfully only 1 was involving a finger. All of the others were people messing up and put conductive materials in.
Still haven't gotten a table saw but a sawstop is a no brainer IMO.
Phew! I get nervous every time I flip the switch on my whirling danger disk machine. Mine will happily steal my fingers though. Glad you had the safeguard!
The thought of losing one of my fingers makes me queasy 😵💫. Glad you're still 10/10.
FWIW, I was told that I would sh*t myself when it fired because it's super loud. First, that didn't happen. Thankfully. And second, it couldn't have been that loud since I just barely heard it through my ear protection.

There are twice as many but we’re in process of moving and some are packed up! Each one is a finger saved from serious harm
I'll send you a picture of the wall of SawStop pictures tomorrow if I get a chance. So many saved digits! It's from a maker space so it gets a ton of use daily. Best investment ever.
