The overwhelm gets gradually worse every time. We're really due for a total reimagining of chat firehose apps

Interestingly enough, the lesser known Discord clone, Guilded, solves this with subgroups. Here is a screenshot of my gaming server, with each campaign split into its own group.

Assistants are a good solution to this. But they don't come for free.
Slack definitely feels like it's getting more complicated and overwhelming with each passing day. Some of the new features are great, if you can remember how to access and use them.

Yeah it’s become pretty bloated. I wish I could turn off features and streamline the experience around chats.

I don’t know why people love Slack it’s UX is dismal especially adding workspaces.
