as a proud member of "people who played the original half life in the nineties" I am obligated by law to inform you that black mesa is just like the original half life but better in every way (I don't make the rules)
Same boat (tho I can't play it). I've just been devouring the lore for the last few days, and all the movies fans have made, and been blown away. Now Im just like 'why didn't I play this back when I could? This is SO GOOD'
I finally played HL1 last year and I enjoyed it a lot! Obviously it's super rough compared to today's standards but you can easily understand why it was huge when it released. I skipped HL2 and played Alyx in VR and wow, they really know what they're doing

I see someone has already mentioned Black Mesa 馃檪 Not actually played it, but I did play Half Life back in the late 90s or early 2000s. I still remember the big orange box the game came in!
