It seems to be popping up here. I can’t articulate a way in which this is bad per se, but I can’t shake the feeling that it isn’t good.

It’s a new toy. People like talking about their new toy for a while, then they just use it and only talk about it when it breaks or does something weird.
I guess it is because it is growing fast and people are learning. I guess with time everyone will adjust and it will become a neutral tool.
it's potentially bad in the same way mastodon servers love talking about federation. luckily, hopefully, bluesky's UX is seamless enough that the "GNU is actually...." folks don't dominate the conversation because there's enough normal people around
